Firefly Style Costumes was founded in 2003 by designer Nera Brent. Couture custom made clothing and period costuming as well as swing rendition clothing had been the main focus for over 10 years prior. Nera's designs have always been influenced by music and dance. It was just natural that before she was out of design school she was working with a ballet company.
Nera Brent was born in Hilo, Hawaii and went to Fine Art School at San Diego School for Creative and Performing Arts later attending Academy of Art University for Fashion Design in San Francisco, 1996.
